Il a mené des dialogues avec des personnalités du monde entier et a fondé divers instituts culturels, philosophiques et éducatifs, comme l'université Soka, en 1971. Il a notamment reçu la Médaille de la paix des Nations unies en 1983. Nombre de ses dialogues et de ses écrits s'adressent aux plus jeunes.</p> <p style="font-size:14px;margin-bottom:7px;"><span style="color:#0800a4;font-weight:bold;font-variant:small-caps;">Brian Wildsmith</span> (1930-2016), auteur illustrateur anglais de renom international, il créa plus de 80 albums jeunesse qui furent diffusés dans plus de 45 pays. Sa notoriété s'appuie sur l'intemporalité et l'universalité de ses dessins peints aux couleurs flamboyantes et des valeurs humaines qu'elles dégagent: bienveillance, générosité, amitié et beauté. À la fin des années 1980, il rencontra Daisaku Ikeda, un militant pour la paix, la culture et l'éducation, qui perçut dans l'œuvre de Brian Wildsmith des valeurs partagées. Ainsi lui proposa-t-il d'illustrer quatre de ses écrits pour enfants dans lesquels l'espoir, la persévérance, la compassion et la paix sont les thèmes principaux. <em>Le Prince du Pays des Neiges</em> est le quatrième ouvrage en langue française, né de cette collaboration, après <em>Au-delà des vastes océans bleus</em> (Acep 2020), <em>Le Cerisier</em> (Acep 2023) et <em>La princesse et la lune</em> (Acep 2024).</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

<h1><span style="color:#00008b;font-weight:600;">Quatrième de couverture</span></h1> <p style="text-align:left;"><span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#ea5b0b;font-weight:600;">Il y a 80 ans,</span> les 6 et 9 août 1945, des bombes atomiques étaient larguées sur les villes de Hiroshima et Nagasaki, provoquant des drames sans précédent et ouvrant l’ère des armes nucléaires qui n’ont depuis cessé de se développer, au point de constituer aujourd’hui une menace pour la survie même de l’humanité.</p> <p style="text-align:left;">Dans le climat des années 1950, marquées notamment par la guerre de Corée et la guerre froide, la Soka Gakkai, sous la direction de Josei Toda, s’affirma clairement comme une organisation bouddhiste œuvrant à la paix mondiale. Dans cette optique, la Déclaration appelant à l’abolition des armes nucléaires, émise par Josei Toda en 1957, apparaît comme le texte fondateur de l’engagement de notre mouvement contre les armes nucléaires.
